USB-C-auf-Mini-DisplayPort-Adapter 4K@60Hz – Silber

I recently upgraded my MacBookPro for a newer 2019 model which has four USB Type C ports. My old MacBookPro had a MiniDisplay port with which I ran an Apple Cinema HD 23" DVI monitor with an Apple DVI-to-MiniDisplay adaptor. I assumed that an Apple MiniDisplay-USB Type C adaptor would work with the new MBPro. It did not.So I tried the CableCreation USB Type C to DVI adaptor which claims compatibility with the 2019 MBPro. It did not work.Then I tried the Benfei USB Type C to DVI adapter which also claims compatibility with the new MBPro. It did not work.Next I tried the UPTab USB Type C to MiniDisplay adaptor thinking that it would work with my Apple DVI-MiniDisplay adaptor. It did not.Finally, I tried the "Club 3D CAC-1510-A USB C to Dual Link DVI-D Adapter HDCP Off" adaptor. IT WORKS!!! I Bought this adapter in January 2022. It worked when it arrived. However, I noticed that it became warm when connecting my Apple Cinema Display to my Mac mini M1. Today, March 3, 2022, the adapter was BLAZING hot and then it stopped working completely. I connected the Display directly into another laptop and had no problems. So, the Cinema Display works fine but I can’t connect it to my Mac mini any longer. The return window closed 8 days ago and now I’m sitting here with a $35 brick. I feel like if a company makes a faulty product, they should stand behind it and refund or replace it when it doesn’t work. It’s funny how it seems like products fail after the return window or the warranty closes. This is Designed obsolescence at it’s worst. Terrible.

connected this to a iMac (27" Retina 5k, 2019). the iMac detected the second display (Apple 27" Cinema Display), but the colors were way off. the white's were more grayish. also, there was this weird banding issue down the left-side of the display. just to make sure it wasn't the display, i connected it back to an old macbook ... no issue. so it was definitely this adaptor. not recommended.

The adapter arrived timely and safely packaged. Connected to the laptop to Maher easy set up and it worked! But THEN, once the laptop switched off and restarted, it never connected again. Waste of good money!

Are you trying to connect your Apple Cinema Display to a current model USB-C laptop?Having purchased and returned several adapters on Amazon that claim to enable this connectivity, surprise surprise, none worked.After substantial trial and error, I found an apple native approach that works 100% flawlessly.To enable connectivity from the native DVI equipped Apple Cinema Display, purchase a genuine Apple HDMI to DVI Adapter.At this point if your Apple laptop provides a native HDMI port as several models had years back, you now have multi-monitor capability and you are done.If your machines is a more current USB-C only model like the Touch Bar MacBook Pro...you will need to use the Apple HDMI to DVI Adapter 'and' the Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter which lets you connect your USB-C or Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) enabled Mac to an HDMI display, while also connecting a standard USB device and a USB-C charging cable.Having tested both options above, each work perfectly.With luck this review will save others a lot of hassle and also spare Amazon a few bucks on Prime return shipping.
